You Yi - The Most Valuable Gift

All Part of His Plan
Ten years ago God put it on our hearts that reaching the emerging leaders of China was part of his strategy for reaching the most influential country in the world today. Since 2004 we have equipped churches to connect Chinese scholars with Christ through offering transforming hospitality. Little did we know that God's plan was to grow the number of Chinese Scholars in America by more than 400% over these ten years.

You Yi Is More Than a Friendship
Now nearly 250,000 Chinese scholars are spread out in big and small cities across the United States - cities like Thomasville, GA.

In the summer of 2012, a group of American Christians from Thomasville United Methodist Church formed a missional community intent on reaching the lost and least. Prayer and research led them to focus on reaching Chinese scholars at Thomas University. FollowOne provided training and resources - soon after the new You Yi Ministry ('You Yi' means 'friendship' in Mandarin) took off.

Their team has now witnessed several of these students come to Christ and be baptized. Recently a team member received the email below from someone she considers her Chinese son. "David" accepted Christ while he was in Thomasville and he and his fiancé were baptized there.  After graduating, they moved to Philadelphia, and their American friends helped connect them with a Chinese church that they are very active with now.Chz couple

Thank you for everything you did for all the Chinese students! I can't imagine how hard it would have been for us to live in Thomasville without your help.

The most valuable gift I received after coming to the USA was knowing God. When I read the Bible it really made me have peace. Before I knew God, I was always trying to control everything in my life and be the master of my destiny.

Now I know Jehovah is the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. He is our Savior, our Shepherd, and our Lord. We must abandon ourselves to God, and he will lead us. I don't need to feel anxious or uneasy because I believe that God loves me and is in control. That's very important for me.

Thank you for taking us to church in Thomasville. Please take the new Chinese students to church if possible too. They need to know God too!

We miss you and hope to see you as soon as possible!

Hospitality Leads to Radical Life Change
These Americans begin with offering transforming hospitality, friendships develop as they share their lives with each other, and it is leading to radical life change for Americans and Chinese scholars.

This church has been told that Thomas University will soon start an undergraduate business program in China that will eventually bring more scholars to Thomasville. A God-ordained opportunity!

Join us in praying for this new opportunity, the past and present Chinese who have been part of the You Yi Ministry, and the faithful Americans who extend Christ's love and grace.

So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.  1 Corinthians 3:7
